Student Productions and Film Schools

The Accident on Set  insurance program is available to cover individual student productions as well as Film Schools.

If you are a student initiating a Low Budget Project, and your eligible ACTRA/UBCP perfomers are not already covered under your school's insurance policy, the Accident on Set insurance program is available to provide coverage. To apply, please go to How to Apply including Forms, select your province, and follow the instructions for Low Budget/Deferral Projects.

Please note that it is the responsibility of the Production also to obtain general liability insurance. Contact your ACTRA or UBCP representative for more information.

IMPORTANT!  Premium is payable under the Accident on Set insurance program. Please refer to Program Details for the cost.

Film Schools that wish to cover their student productions can do so under the Accident on Set insurance program by purchasing coverage for the entire year or by semester(s).

Your ACTRA/UBCP Branch may require that you have workers' compensation or equivalent coverage for your ACTRA/UBCP performers in order to comply with the IPA agreement. Please contact your ACTRA/UBCP representative for details.

If you are a Film School, here's how to apply for the Accident on Set  insurance program:

1. If you are applying for Accident on Set coverage for ACTRA and/or UBCP performers who are engaged by the film school in student initiated projects, please complete and submit the Film School Application Application Form 01-AFS.
2. Premium for the Accident on Set insurance program will depend on the duration of coverage. Once your application has been reviewed, you will be contacted by the program administrator.
   
   How to submit: Our application forms are interactive and can be completed online, printed and signed. We must receive signed copies of your application. Please ensure that your application is fully complete and contact information is clearly indicated. Incomplete applications may delay processing.
