Program Details
The federally regulated National Film Board (NFB) is excluded from provincial workers' compensation across Canada and, therefore, the Accident on Set insurance program provides protection for all performers.
As of January 1, 2009, amendments were made to the NFB Collective Agreement so that cost is negotiated as part of the insurance contribution. One per cent (1%) of insurable earnings up to $100,000 per eligible performer per production is now earmarked for the Accident on Set program.
Accident on Set insurance coverage is automatically extended for all eligible performers working under an NFB contract. Producers are not required to submit an application.
